Contemporary Art and Ethical AI: Hallucinations and Data Analysis in Educational and Creative Practices
The project proposes an educational and artistic journey aimed at developing a critical and informed perspective on the use of Artificial Intelligence among students and creative practitioners, exploring its social, ethical, and cultural implications, as well as its risks and opportunities.
Through collective discussions, artistic experimentation, and interaction between human creativity and algorithms, students transformed their reflections into visual artworks and contemporary tapestries.
Particular attention was given to so-called “AI hallucinations,” as well as the contradictions and limitations of AI, using them as starting points to question the reliability of information, the relationship between reality and representation, and the importance of maintaining a critical perspective on emerging technologies.
The project concluded with a public presentation at the Teatro San Carlo, where students showcased their artworks and shared their reflections, questioning the role of AI in creative and educational processes and contemporary society.
As a theoretical reference, we also draw on the paper we co-authored, “From Artificial to Circular Intelligence to Support the Well-Being of Our Habitat,” which explores the concept of Circular Intelligence.
