Flumen Amazonas,

Flumen Amazonas,
Flumen is an ecological artistic practice that for a decade has been dedicated to the rights of rivers and water bodies. Through multidisciplinary investigations, combining art, science, and political ecology, data collection, environmental monitoring, small rituals, and performative actions involving local communities.
In the Amazon, we paid tribute to the Rio Negro and Rio Solimois, where the waters that generate the Rio Amazonas meet, with a painting of the Amazon basin made with the red dye from the urucum plant. In collaboration with artist Geane of the Barè people, we paid homage to the Rio Cuglieras, together with the local community, with a cloth we made together with the natural dyes of the Jenipapo plant.
The protection of aquatic ecosystems is so crucial for the common good of the planet that they should be considered living beings and legal entities with protections and rights equal to those of humans.’
Thanks to all the friends and colleagues who participated and helped me in these adventures.
